Salar de Uyuni!!

Saturday 5th July

OK - I missed the dawn. Doh! People who know me will not be surprised! But sleep is sooo nice. We always planned to stay 2 nights here, and I think there is another one tomorrow. So definitely dawn photos tomorrow...

Today is photo tricks with perspective....

The wheel turns...

Giant fruit...

A 2 man job...

I have the biggest horn (CROME 31)...

Relaxing on the bike...

Steve and Gavin - 2 more cycling legends we meet on the salt...

It´s getting crowded as the tour jeeps turn up....

So we climb the island....

Ancient boulders set in stone where they sank into mud millenia ago...

As the sun sets across the salar....

Distant mountains burn gold...

Until the final fade out...

Hi - we are an English couple cycling about a month behind you, in Humahuaca at the moment.
Got your blog details from someone we have both met and have enjoyed reading about what we are about to experience. Keen to cycle to Isla de los Pescadores but wondered if you needed GPS or can just follow the jeep tracks. Our blog is www.carryonuptheandes.co.uk if you could drop a message we would be really grateful. (maybe easier to email us on jim_brown60@hotmail.com) Best of luck! Tamsin and Jim
